| Event Details: This year 2010, has been designated as the International Year of the Nurse. Nurses at the NHS have partnered with international child rights and relief agency "Free the Children," the largest network of children helping children through education. Our joint project is the adoption of a village in Africa. NHS nurses have begun coodinating fundraising events hosted by Niagara youth to support African youth to collectively make a difference together for the benefit of the entire village. The adopt a village program has four pillars including; clean water, health, alternative income and education. Our goal is to raise enough money throughout this year to build a health clinic in Kenya, Africa. Additional monies raised will go to the foundations of the Niagara Health System.
NHS nurses along with local youth will be participating in the Welland Rose Parade to launch the beginning of the upcoming years fundraising events.
