For these days only (12:01 am Friday to 11:59 pm Sunday), Canadian residents can fish in Ontario without a licence. All other regulations, fees and limits will apply.

  • Stargazing, Astronomy New Saturday March 20, 2010

  • Members of the local Astronomy Club, RASC Niagara centre, will be at Heartland forest for Stargazing and an Astronomy Presentation.Event starts at 6:15pm.Learn the names of the bright stars, constellations,and location of the planets. Look for Polar ice caps on Mars.

  • Trout Fishing Season Opens New April 24, 2010 until the end of the 2010 season.

  • Cast your line from the last Saturday in April until the end of trout season at St. Johns Conservation Area. The pond is stocked twice annually with rainbow trout providing an excellent fishing environment the whole family can enjoy.

    The conservation area offers two wheelchair accessible fishing piers along with a boardwalk trail and picnic area. Fishing license is required with a limit of two (2)* fish per person.

  • 11th annual SCRAPE by the LAKE Popular mid July 2010

  • SCRAPE by the LAKE returns to Niagara for it's 11th year in mid July 2010!

    Live Entertainment and DJs all day long. Check out hydraulic and air-asssisted low-riders shoot for the moon in the wildest Hop-off on Planet Earth. Custom Cars, Motorcycles and Trucks. Custom Low-Rider Bicycles, Motor Cross demonstrations, a Bikini Contest and more, makes this one of the largest car shows along the shores of Lake Ontario.

  • 2010 Virgil Stampede Popular Saturday, May 22 and Monday, May 24, 2010

  • Visit the community of Virgil May 22nd and 24th for their annual Virgil Stampede. (Closed Sunday May 23rd) There is plenty of fun and excitement for the whole family. Enjoy the large carnival and midway, pig races, Mechanical bull riding, nickel sale, mud bogging ATV's and Trucks along with much more. On Saturday between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm pay one price and ride during those hours for only $23.00. Monday, enjoy a fabulous Victoria Day fireworks show at 9:30 pm.

  • SCENE Music Festival Popular Sunday, June 27, 2010

  • The S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival is a wildly popular music festival that is celebarting it's 15th year in 2010. Featuring 180 bands on 19 stages, at various venues covering all types of music genres and scenes, all night long.
    Tickets are $25.00 in advance and $30 at the Market Square doors.
