  As part of Welland's 150th Anniversary celebrations, an ArtFest will be held May 23 through 25th at the Youth Arena 501 King St., Welland. Showcasing unique works of art, photography, sculpture, and 'all things clever', ArtFest pledges to deliver a wonderful array of eye-candy. The show is open to all artisans of any age. • Critical Incident Awareness Training ^New Thursday, May 29, 2008
  For Workplace Employers and Supervisors. Today's reality and state of the world include the potential for a wide variety of occurrences. Are your staff prepared to react to these challenges effectively? These days the average individual carries heavy load of stress just under the surface. Learn how to help others, and help yourselves, during a time of crisis. You, your staff and co-workers will learn the basics to: identifying a guideline to what is needed for each situation; demobilizing, defusing, critical incident stress debriefing. Having a plan creates a sense of personal power. Create a plan for the workplace that you can pass on to your staff. Participants must register.

• Support the Troops Aviation Day ^New August 27, 2008
  On August 27th, 2008 the Niagara Central Airport in Pelham will be hosting an Aviation Day. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will perform their aerial acrobatics directly over the airport. In addition to this significant attraction a CF – 18 Hornet is planned to perform a fly-by, piloted by a former student of the Niagara Central Airport. A WWII Lancaster from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum will follow. On the ground, numerous vintage aircraft will be on display, with some warbirds offering rides. There will be no entrance fee for the event and proceeds from a parking donation will be donated to local charity. The theme of the day will be, 'Support the Troops', and will honour the men and women from the Armed Forces from both sides of the border. Come out and show your support for the veterans who have served their country, or are currently engaged in this noble pursuit.

• 47th Annual Welland Rose Festival ^Popular June 2008
  The Welland Rose Festival showcases Welland's history, diversity, culture and geography. Events in 2008 include old favourites such as the Grand Parade on June 15th. Also during this two week festival are sporting events, music and entertainment, luncheons, arts & crafts, and naturally, a Rose Show.

• 8th New Year's Eve Celebration ^Popular December 31, 2008
  This alcohol free event opens in Downtown Welland at 4:00 pm with a fireworks show behind the Civic Centre at 6:00 pm. Other activities will include musical entertainment, games and free hot chocolate.

  One of the best and largest exhibitions in Niagara. The Niagara Regional Exhibition has roots dating back to 1853. The fair boasts 4-H Club Educational Displays, a Baby Show, Flower & Vegetable Show, many demonstrations, food & refreshments, family fun and a great midway plus daily entertainment and ride-all--4-one-price on Sunday.
