Synopsis
| Brenda (Angela Bassett) is a single mother struggling to make ends meet while trying to keep her kids off the mean streets of inner city Chicago. As if things could not get any worse, she is suddenly laid-off from her job. When she receives a letter explaining her father -- a man she never met -- has just died, she packs her kids up and heads to Georgia. But nothing could have prepared her for the Browns, her father's happy-go-lucky Southern clan. While Brenda struggles to get to know the family she never knew existed, a romance begins to blossom that just might change her life. |
